Melanie's just a tad late hot cross buns

Just made these fruity, moist wonders yesterday.  Now I know what hot cross buns taste like and they are good!!!  I experienced many of the same problems as others such as too much, hard to pipe paste that clung to the end of the pastry tip when I wanted it to stop.  I will very likely pipe my crosses on next time after they bake and just use the typical milk, powdered sugar, vanilla mixture.  Much easier on the hands and much more visually appealing to have a very white cross on top.  Here are my buns:

They say these buns don't hold very well. I didn't get the chance to see if they lasted more than one day when I made them.  :snicker:
