Hi Qahtan

Wonder what you want to know?

When I was 11 we started cooking classes at intermediate school. One of the first things we made was called Bermaline Loaf. I have the recipe in my school book - this recipe is the only one I've ever made, and used to do so from time to time while I still lived with my parents. We made it in a re-cycled round tin(which the teacher had us bring from home), with a lid that fitted on top, over the sides (think it was probably a baking powder tin - although the baking powder tin I have now into which I transfer baking powder from its packet has a press in lid - not sure when that changed I was away from NZ for about 25 years).

Just did a google search & the first hit was correspondence between you and Dan Lepard in 2004 on this very topic...... It would seem the bermaline loaf we made at school was quite the pretender!

Regards Robyn

Have the tin to bake the bread in, in UK it was a special bread that was baked and sold as Bermaline. qahtan
