Just ran across this, wanted to make sure everyone had a chance to see it.

Tartine Bread


It's interesting to note the bread is slashed BEFORE it's final proofing in this video. Is this a common technique?

I think I'll check out the book whenever I'm next near a bookstore, see what all the fuss is about. Anyone else have it yet? What do you think? I understand it's got few recipes but plenty of philosophy and "things to make with the bread" recipes.

I received this book as a present and like it a lot. The photos are beautiful, the recipes involved and interesting, especially the ones to make into meals and sandwiches.
I also like it because it gave me more insights into sourdough, the starter, the levain build up, the way to handle it . . . another resource and reference for me.
I've tried the whole wheat sourdough but goofed on the very first time, just a simple numerical error. So, I'm going to read it again, peruse the pages, and be more mellow about trying the recipe again.
Doesn't the cover have a nice padded feel to it?
