Wanted easy starter idea

I am thinking of trying sourdough again,,, any ideas on an easy starter,,,please

Well I didn't get any further than the starter that after a few day's smelt ike paint so I dumped it....
       this is the same smell as I have got in the past when I have tried.... ;-(((( :weep: :weep:

You ought not have thrown it out in mid-process... You were at stage one of the development.

You would probably be better off to buy a pre-made starter. Search online for local starter sources, they work very well too. You just need to re-hydrate the flakes and away you go. They can be had pretty cheap or even free if you can find someone who'll share some of their dried starter.
