Beer bread

Unlike those dead soldiers on the table, the Beer Bread actually tastes and smells better, come Monday morning!

I tried and failed to make the barley sprout; I thought that I had some planted outside successfully, but now I am not so sure.  In any event, I have more to try now, from a different source, so I will do this bread again.

For this loaf, however, which is waaaay behind even a mellow schedule, I made a number of substitutions, and cut the recipe in half.  I used pearlized barley, set in a hot soaker, and I added some malt powder for the flavor.

Came out just OK at the time; I am more fond of it today than this weekend.  ;)



I am due for several do-overs.  Now I need to find a long weekend and some hungry people!
